USA Today Article Response

I read the article, "Planes With Maintenance Problems Have Flown Away." I was very surprised when I read that many major airlines have continued to fly planes even if there are maintanence problems known. I was also surprised how many fines the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has found against different US airlines for maintenance problems. For safety reasons I think that all airlines should be checking eveything themselves so the FAA does not find as many problems.
